So in my last post I promised to show you all the wonderful finds I discovered and brought home from my visit to Far Reaches Farm in Pt. Townsend. I love Sue & Kelly’s plant tag descriptions so much I decided to include them for your reading pleasure.
Cassinia x ozothamnus
Thought to be a cross of 2 New Zealand shrubby daisies. I love the texture here!
I’m a fan of Geum’s but absolutely love the warmth of color in this one!
Rhodohypoxis baurii ‘Dulcie’
Rewards the neglectful gardener with unearned but copious amounts of showy white flowers – what’s not to love?
Agapanthus ‘Black Buddist’
Can’t wait to see these dark blue/purple flowers in late summer
Fuzzy light lavendar flowers in sept/oct just when you need a shot of color in the garden!
Strobilanthes aff. larium
Kelly laughed when he saw this in my cart at his nursery. He said they didn’t think anyone would buy what looked like a stick! It’s been a month and it’s already leaving out nicely. Another Dan Hinkley find.
Agastache ‘Purple Haze’
I love all Agastache’s but Sue & Kelly’s description of ‘Purple Haze’ made me purchase this one read label below for a smile!
So that ends my flower purchases from Far Reaches last month. For those of you not close to Port Townsend, don’t despair! Here’s a link to their website and they ship! http://www.farreachesfarm.com/ Happy shopping!
